I will always remember like most Americans where and what we were doing 8 years ago on this day. It was a Friday morning and on this day I had the day off and was having my morning coffee preparing to start my day. Who would of thought it would change so many lives forever.
I got a call from a church member passing on a prayer request whose family member was working at the Pentagon in Washington, DC. She said to me, "isn't all this terrible?" I replied, "What's terrible?" She said, "haven't you heard a plane hit the world trade center." Well, I hadn't for I normally don't watch TV in the mornings. So this started the beginning of a day that will stay with so many of us. In remembering that tragic day I want to share two poems the Lord blessed me with that I wrote shortly after 9/11/2001. May God be with each of us on this day and give us His comfort and peace.
What's Happening Here?
Buildings are tumbling to the ground
Germs are in the air
Warplanes are in the skies above
What is happening here?
Enemies and friends look alike
Relax you mustn't dare
Children look to their parents and ask
What is happening here?
For the answer we must go back
To the fall of man
When tested by Satan the choice he made
Was not in God's plan.
So Christians don't give up hope
And please do not despair
The place that God has made for you
Has no trouble there.
But you must believe in Christ, His Son
Who died to set us free
And waits in Heaven with His Father
Patiently for you and me

Perfect World
I tried to envision a perfect world
Where everyone would be free
A world without suffering and pain
Where all lived in harmony.
A world without bitterness
A world without shame
A world without differences
A world without blame.
Never having to say you're sorry
For you never did any wrong
A world filled with laughter
A world filled with song.
Could there ever be such a place?
Yes, for it is in God's plan
We would all be their now
If not for the fall of man.
So people don't get discouraged
Remember to think before you do
Until we get to our "Perfect World"
This one will have to do.
